UNDERSTANDING YOUR RESULTS
Why did a true story get a low score?
Truth Lens scores how a specific claim is communicated — not whether the underlying subject is real or important. A verified scientific breakthrough can still be reported with exaggerated claims, missing context, or manipulative framing. The UNDERLYING CONCERN box always shows whether the subject itself is legitimate, separate from how it was communicated.
What exactly is Truth Lens analyzing?
The specific claim or headline as written — word for word. Not the topic in general. Two headlines about the same event can score very differently depending on how they're worded, what context they include, and what language they use to frame the story.
Is Truth Lens politically neutral?
Yes. The DOM Triad evaluates language structure and framing — not political position. The same framework applies to content from any direction. A claim manipulates or distorts regardless of which side it comes from.
Can Truth Lens be wrong?
Yes — and we want to be honest about that. Results are one analytical perspective grounded in current web search and structured reasoning. They are not verdicts. Always apply your own judgment alongside the analysis. If you believe a result is inaccurate, email us at support@uptruthlens.com.
What is the World Feed?
The World Feed shows AI-generated summaries of current global stories across 7 categories. Click any headline to run it through the DOM Triad instantly. Note that World Feed headlines are AI summaries — always check the original source for full context.
What do Distortion, Omission, and Manipulation mean?
Distortion — facts twisted, exaggerated, or framed to create a false impression. Omission — critical context deliberately left out, changing what you believe without stating anything false. Manipulation — emotional language or psychological techniques used to steer your judgment before you've finished reading.
How accurate is the research behind each analysis?
Truth Lens uses live web search to ground its analysis in current information — this significantly improves accuracy over AI working from training data alone. However, AI systems can misread sources, weight unreliable information, or reach incorrect conclusions, particularly on specialized medical, legal, or scientific topics. Results should be treated as a starting point for your own research, not a final determination. On complex topics, always consult primary sources.
What are the limits of Truth Lens?
Truth Lens is most reliable at analyzing language structure — identifying absolute claims, missing context, and persuasive techniques in how content is written. It is less reliable as a factual verification system. The AI that powers it was trained on human-generated content that itself contains biases and errors. The DOM Triad framework constrains the analysis toward structural evaluation, which improves output quality — but does not eliminate the underlying limitations of AI reasoning. Use Truth Lens as one informed perspective, not as a replacement for your own critical thinking.
Should I fully trust Truth Lens results?
No — and we want to be clear about that. AI is not trained to deceive, but it does make mistakes. Truth Lens is a tool designed to help you think more critically, not to think for you. The most valuable use of this tool is as a structured prompt for your own judgment — not as a source of final answers. When results surprise you, investigate further. That curiosity is exactly what this tool is designed to encourage.
